Ground Source Heat Pumps
Ground source heat pumps are the most common and most efficient of the heat pump family. They can, when properly installed and set up, deliver more than four times the energy put in, i.e. they have an efficiency ratio of more than 450%. This is also known as the heat coefficient, which would be stated as greater than 4.5.
The achievement of the best heat coefficients is down to two key factors:
- The quality of the heat pump
- The balance of the heat source and output circuits. It is only through in depth training and experience that these can be achieved.
We can design, supply, install and service all elements. The pumps can be run together in parallel for larger commercial installations, so accommodating floor areas from 50m² through to 5,000m². The individual pumps vary in size from 5KW (sufficient for a 2 bedroom house) through to 17KW, and up to 10 pumps can be docked in parallel.
The pumps come either complete in a single unit with specialist hot water tanks, or the hot water tanks can be supplied separately. The pumps can be located in a utility room or even in an outbuilding.
The tank is a critical part of the installation. It is required for storing the heat from the heat pump.
