Air to Water

Air source heat pumps can operate down to -15°C. This stems from their Scandinavian pedigree. Hence there is no problem in extracting heat from the air in this manner. Obviously the machine performs more efficiently when air conditions are warmer, as it has less work to-do. Our machines are delivered with an automatic defrosting unit for the very cold days in winter. The average temperature in the south of England in December, January and February is just above five degrees centigrade.

NIBE machines are among the quietest on the market and only produce a noise level of less than 50 decibels at 4 metres away. This is less volume that a typical conversation between two people.

We strongly recommend that the client has an additional heat source for those very few very cold winter days either retaining their existing oil/gas boiler or employing an immersion heater or wood burning stove.
